How long have you been in business?
My daughter started the business in Denver in 2003 and I joined her in 2004.
What is your primary product or service?
I carry only name brand, discontinued sample gowns. These dresses are in excellant condition and range in sizes from 4 - 26. Regular retail is $700-$5800. My prices, though, are $300 - $2000 most being in the $450 range. A huge savings as you can see!
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
When our daughter got married, we ordered her dress through a discount bridal shop which was based out of the womans home. We saved around $150 on the gown. When we received the gown, the company offered us the opportunity to join their nationwide circle of reps. My daughter decided to try it and I joined her about 6 months later. From there I gravitated to carrying only sample gowns which offered my customers a more affordable way to purchase a name brand, higher quality, wedding dress.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
I offer most of my products at reasonable prices. I carry discontinued, sample wedding gowns . But the most unique aspect of my business is that I operate it out of my home. I have a couple of rooms set up with my dresses and other items couples can choose from. My customers love the personal attention and care I give them.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
Only one. I don't plan on expanding because I do a volunteer work which is very important to me. That's why it works great for me to have my wedding business home-based because I can work around my volunteer work but am very flexable with the hours for my brides. My husband is good about working with me, too.

I am located off Fillmore. If you google my address it looks like you can get Simms Rd off Fillmore but you can not. You need to take Templeton Gap or Hancock north to Columbine Blvd. Simms road is a dead end street. I am the second place on the left. You will see my sign, An Affair of the Heart Bridal Boutique.
